Elinex was given a new project by Huisman to deliver UPS installations for the cranes that Huisman is building for the new Heerma ship the ‘SLEIPNIR’.

The ‘SLEIPNIR’ is a new ship from Heerma, a Semi-Submersible Construction Vessel (SSCV), for which Huisman will be building world’s biggest cranes on a ship. For the use of these cranes specific UPS solutions according to the Heerma standards are necessary and Huisman has chosen Elinex as partner to deliver these UPS solutions.

UPS Solutions

Elinex is very happy with this new project from Huisman and is proud to contribute to this prestigious project in the Marine & Offshore sector. The UPS solutions Elinex will be building and delivering are four 30kVA Marine solutions build in IP44 re-encasings. There will be worked with Eaton Marine UPS systems in combination with transformations. The whole solutions will be customized and will satisfy the Heerema standards. The UPS solutions will specifically be used to release the brakes of certain movements in case of an emergency. (Better known as ELRS, Emergency Load Release System).

Huisman

Huisman, the worldwide specialist in hoisting, drilling and offshore equipment, delivers world’s biggest cranes on board of Heerema’s planned, new, half-submersible crane ship.  Each crane will have a hoisting capacity of 10.000 tones on a radius of 48 meters. Huisman is know for there, so called mast cranes. However these cranes are a different, more conventional type were the whole crane is turning on a lower construction. What is special with these cranes are the dimensions of the lager with a diameter of 30 meter. These lagers will be developed and made by Huisman.
